I don’t use synthetic fragrances at all, but I sometimes use small amounts of essential oils (like lemon or lavender) in cleaning or the diffuser. If you are sensitive, I’m happy to avoid all scents and make sure your stay is essential oils free.

Our rooms are simply furnished with cozy beds and clean linens. While the mattresses are not luxury-level, they are supportive and guests have told us they sleep well.

Most of the furniture in the house is older and wasn’t originally chosen by me, so I can’t confirm all the materials or off-gassing history. That said, I haven’t noticed any chemical smells or off-gassing since living here.

The sofa is brand new, and I make sure to clean the space with unscented, natural products. I also regularly air out the house to keep the environment fresh and as low-toxin as possible.

The bed linen are new.

Cooking with mostly local and organic plant-based ingredients
Keeping energy use mindful by turning off appliances and lights when not needed
Regularly airing out the house naturally instead of relying heavily on AC or heating
